Respite Care

Temporary support can be a live-saver to carers looking after their loved ones. We are here to support unpaid carers because we understand that everyone needs a break from time to time.

Respite Care

Short-term support to give you (or a carer) some much needed respite.

A break for a carer can be important for their physical and mental health, at the same time knowing that their loved ones are being taken care of.

It can also provide new social interactions for the person living with dementia, as well as pursue new pastimes and forge new relationships.

Respite care typically covers two or more weeks, depending on each individual’s circumstances and requirements.  We tailor care to individual needs whether it is a respite stay or permanent stay.

Important News

The Trustees reached an agreement to sell The Cedars Nursing Home to Park Healthcare Ltd. Martin Thomas, Chairman of the board, stated it had been a difficult decision to take after almost 40 years delivering care to the local community.

He believes selling Cedars to a larger operator was the best outcome for residents and staff.

He was adamant that residents and staff would continue to reside and work at the Cedars, and it would not affect the care we provide or the unsettling of our residents.

The Board of Trustees will continue to run the charity, Cedars Castle Hill, as a grant giving charity for the Shaftesbury community.
